Job Summary
:
The Craft Supervisor – Piping is responsible for supervising and directing operations within the Piping discipline. You will ensure assigned construction operations and contractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.
This is a FIFO role working 3:1 roster based in Karratha, WA.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Perform employee reviews and identify training and development opportunities for Piping personnel and complete performance evaluations on direct reports.
2. Provide leadership for safety, accident and fire prevention on the project. This includes safety orientation, preparation of safety procedures and leading Bechtel and subcontractor safety meetings.
3. Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
4. Monitor the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
5. Interface with Labor/Industrial Relations for craft recruitment and training programs.
6. Responsible for implementing corporate project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned piping operations.
7. Other responsibilities as designated.
Education and Experience Requirements:
8. Strong supervision experience including the ability to lead and manage change is desirable.
9. 8-10 years’ experience in similar role within the Heavy Industrial Field.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
10. Displays effective communications skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner.
11. Strong experience of liaising with and coordinating sub-contractors.
12. Excellent problem-solving ability.
13. Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.

Additional Information
This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).
The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site.
This position is available to both local and non-local personnel. For non-locals (FIFO/DIDO), the working roster is 3/1.
