About the role
The Water Security Response Planner plays a critical role in developing Response Plans for all SA Water supplies as part of the Water Security Resilience Framework. This position is essential for managing short-term water shortages due to challenges such as drought, infrastructure failures, fires, or other unforeseen events.
About Science and Strategy
The Science and Strategy group employs scientific approaches to address present and upcoming challenges. They execute a strategy driven by customer preferences to elevate the SA Water brand and position us for future success.
In addition, your responsibilities will include:
Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.
You will:
* Lead the creation of tailored Response Plans for each region in South Australia, ensuring they align with the Water Resilience Framework and the Water Futures program.
* Conduct regular reviews and updates of Response Plans to maintain their relevance as systems and conditions change.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders in the water sector to foster collaboration in developing Response Plans.
* Prepare and present high-level briefings, reports, and other necessary documentation to senior management.
* Collaborate across strategy, planning and operational disciplines to achieve integrated, high-quality outcomes.
Your success in this role will come from:
* Relevant qualifications in science, engineering, or a related field, along with a solid understanding of technical, regulatory, and policy requirements.
* Strong strategic and analytical skills, capable of resolving complex issues involving multiple stakeholders.
* Exceptional organisational abilities, with a talent for prioritising and managing multiple tasks effectively.
* Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build lasting relationships.
* Proficiency in data analysis, enabling the drawing of high-quality conclusions and strategic recommendations.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing high-quality reports and engaging effectively with senior leaders.
