The Limestone Coast Local Government Association (LCLGA) is seeking a visionary, driven, and capable Executive Officer to lead its operations, deliver regional initiatives, and represent the collective interests of seven progressive Councils that make up the Limestone Coast.
The LCLGA is the trusted regional voice for its member Councils, they work together to influence policy, secure funding, and deliver strategies that support liveability, sustainability, and economic growth across the Limestone Coast. Bordered by Victoria, the Southern Ocean, and the Coorong, this region is renowned for its award-winning wine, rich agriculture, stunning coastlines, and a powerhouse economy that contributes over $4.6 billion to the state.
About the role… As Executive Officer, you will lead from the front-driving LCLGA's strategic agenda, championing bold regional advocacy, and delivering real outcomes for the Limestone Coast. You will work hand-in-hand with Mayors, CEOs, government leaders, and key stakeholders to bring the Limestone Coast Regional Growth Strategy 2025-2030 to life. From shaping policy and managing finances, to scoping projects and forging strategic partnerships, your leadership will be central to building a stronger, more connected, and prosperous region.
What you will do… Strategic Leadership: Lead the development, implementation, and reporting of the Strategic Plan, Annual Business Plan, and Annual Budget, ensuring alignment with the region's priorities as outlined in the Limestone Coast Regional Growth Strategy 2025-2030.Deliver key infrastructure, economic and social initiatives that align with regional priorities support long-term growth and community wellbeing.Advocacy: Lead advocacy campaigns on behalf of the region, focusing on key areas like roads, housing, health, transport, waste, childcare, water security and tourism.Representation: Represent the region at SAROC and other forums, liaising with State and Federal agencies.Project Management: Lead the delivery of high-impact regional projects, including securing funding, managing resources, and mitigating risks to ensure successful outcomes.Governance & Planning: Prepare agenda papers, minutes, reports, and briefings for the LCLGA Board and coordinate working groups and facilitate collaboration across member Councils.Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison with member Councils, State and Federal agencies, media, and community stakeholders-building strong, collaborative relationships to represent the region's priorities, influence decision-making, and drive shared outcomes for the Limestone Coast.What are they looking for… Strategic, outcome focused and politically astute leaderExceptional advocacy and networking skillsA persuasive communicator, passionate collaborator and effective negotiatorComfortability working autonomously and influencing at all levelsSolid experience in project management, governance, and policy developmentA strong grasp of regional issues, public policy, and government processesTertiary qualifications and a strong background in management, local government or policy are desirable, as is experience working in or with regional communities.LCLGA offers flexibility in work location; however, the successful candidate will need to spend regular time in the Limestone Coast to build strong relationships and stay connected to the region's priorities.
