POSITION: Lead Teacher – Great Start Readiness Program
HOURS: Monday through Thursday classroom, Friday planning and professional development.
START DATE : 24/25 School Year
RATE OF PAY: $38,853.40
REPORTS TO: Director of Early Childhood and Building Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A valid Michigan teaching certificate and an Early Childhood Education (ZA) or Early Childhood-General and Special Education (ZS) endorsement OR A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education OR child development with a specialization in preschool teaching. The transcript will document a major, rather than a minor, in child development or early childhood education
2. Experience working with Preschool Children preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES:
3. Helps to plan varied activities for preschool children using the Connect4Learning (C4L) Curriculum
4. Participates in home visitation with all enrolled families twice a year
5. Participates in Parent/Teacher Conferences twice a year
6. Participates in Parent Involvement Nights twice a year
7. Follows consistent routines and limits
8. Makes all children feel comfortable, secure and loved
9. Insures health and safety of children at all times
10. Helps to provide regular feedback to parents about their children
11. Helps to maintain a portfolio on each child using the Teaching Strategies Gold
12. Assists families with resource referrals
13. Enforces the discipline policies and procedures stated in the parent handbook and staff handbook
14. Maintains classroom orderliness
15. Works with the Director of Early Childhood Programs to plan field trips and special activities
16. Attends Early Childhood Curriculum meetings
17. Helps to plan parent education/involvement activities
18. Punctual, reliable and predictable attendance is required
19. Other duties as assigned
