The Department of Education in the Townsville region is looking for a Senior Psychologist to join our school-based wellbeing team supporting four schools within Townsville.

Wellbeing professionals employed through the Student Wellbeing Package work as part of schools' established student support teams to enhance the wellbeing and mental health support available to students.
This is a dynamic, school-based role with flexibility to working arrangements.Responsibilities include :Provide leadership and promote the delivery of safe, effective, high quality psychology services.Assess psychological requirements and identify appropriate responses and interventions to support the mental health and wellbeing of students and / or undertake individual and group counselling and therapeutic interventions requiring specialised psychological practice with students, parents and families.Identify professional development needs and proactively plan, implement and evaluate clinical supervision, training and development initiatives for psychologists in schools.Maintain effective communication and collaboration networks with other professionals including guidance officers, other relevant agencies and stakeholders such as other government departments and relevant professional bodies to ensure coordinated provision of services to students, parents and families (for example, health, education, and welfare).Support delivery and continual improvement of psychology services in schools by reviewing policies, operational standards and procedures, evaluating service provision and programs and providing advice and recommendations to the Senior Advisor, Psychology about alternative models of delivery and resourcing.Benefits :Flexible work options, including the possibility to accrue time off for school holidays.Full-time and part-time options available.Salary packaging.Ongoing and regular internal supervision including Primary Supervisor allocation for provisionally registered psychologists.Work phone and laptop supplied.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.To Apply :Attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant work history).Attach a 2-page written statement in response to the attached role description.We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.Applications remain current for 12 months from the closing date and may be considered for appointment to identical or similar vacancies within the Department.Applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted.When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.Salary rate shown is reflective of full-time (1.0 FTE).The Department of Education is a family inclusive workplace.
