My client is a premier entertainment complex which offers world-class facilities and services. They are seeking a Senior Design Manager Architecture to support all design projects from inception to completion. This role will support, design and prepare building plans and specifications for retail projects; develop project cost estimates; review construction bids and contracts; administer agreements with consultant architects and engineers ensuring the timely delivery of projects for Crown Resorts. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of many exciting projects across Australia, maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
What you'll need to succeed
* Recognised Architectural Degree
* Post-Graduate qualification in a related field preferred
* Previous extensive experience in building or design-related projects in the Entertainment/Hospitality Industry
* Proven ability to run projects from concept design to construction stage
* Support the Group General Manager Architecture in the provision of team services and show leadership to ensure the commitment of the team to specified goals.
* Technical ability for the purposes of planning and setting the work of others
* Influence key stakeholders and negotiate mutually agreeable solutions
* Strong communication skills with developed diplomacy and influencing skills as well as motivating and managing a team.
* Strong ability to direct and manage consultant teams to meet the deliverables of the projects.
* Works with the design team and consultant architects/engineers, prepares project brief, conceptual designs and prepares plans and specifications, develops cost estimates, and coordinates implementation of project, oversees the work, and administers consultant construction.
* Develops construction bid proposals, reviews bid specifications, recommends contract approval and administers contracts with consultant architects and engineers
* Maintain relationships with the client body during the life of the project, reporting on progress, budget and coordination with other Crown departments to ensure smooth delivery.
* Ensure all specialist consultants are briefed appropriately and correctly in accordance with Crown operational requirements for major projects.
* Participates in final inspection of project and makes recommendation regarding acceptance of construction work
* Review building plans and site design for aesthetics, environmental acceptability, compliance with codes and standards and accessibility requirements.
* Support and control the project expenditure and commitment during the course of the project, take appropriate timely action and ensure all variations are vetted, negotiated and documented.
* Ensure appropriate design management systems are followed to manage design procurement objectives for major projects, which will also provide monitoring of consultants' performance throughout the design procurement phase.
