Position Summary: The Marketing Specialist plans and implements the overall marketing initiatives of the organization. The position requires involvement in the development and implementation of the marketing strategy utilizing project management processes to meet required deadlines. The position also requires performing market research, developing integrated marketing communication plans for new projects, coordinating digital marketing efforts, organizing exhibits and collateral for industry events, facilitating internal communications, and protecting and promoting the organizational brands. In addition, the position will work with the Development department in the development of marketing initiatives to enhance donor relations. It is crucial that this position supports the mission and values of It Is Written by exemplifying the values and beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in all interactions.
Authority & Accountability: Authority as delegated by and accountable to the Director of Marketing & Development in accordance with It Is Written's policies and objectives.
Essential Position Functions: Take a lead role in the coordination marketing activities for Ministry initiatives, including developing objectives and key results based on customer feedback, market analysis, and strategic priorities. Develop product positioning to communicate our unique value proposition. Lead content development for product marketing collateral. Design and implement integrated marketing communication plans for major organizational initiatives in coordination with Public Relations and Communications. Be a key player in the design and implementation of digital marketing campaigns. Collaborate with the Creative Services and Information Technology teams in the enhancement of Ministry websites and online presence. Organize marketing collateral, messaging, and exhibit design for industry events. Member of the Product Review Team, and responsible for actions to be performed by the Marketing team. Gather and organize market data and feedback, perform extensive market research, and organize reporting data. Keep up on latest market trends and influences affecting our markets. Manage external contractor relationships and support strategic partnerships. Ensure that marketing and communications efforts adhere to agreed timelines, and managing expectations with various stakeholders. Assist the Development Department in the expansion of the donor base and management of the donor database. Collaborate with other team members in the office environment to learn, support, encourage, improve, and complete tasks and duties. Be available to meet in person for Marketing team meetings, project meetings, and in collaboration with team members from other departments. Fulfill other related responsibilities and duties as assigned. Position Specifications: Qualifications, Scope, and Complexity of duties: Education: A high school diploma, or equivalent, is required. A bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science is preferred. Experience: Minimum three (3) years of experience in marketing, sales, customer service, or product management. Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to urgent projects and unusual situations. Proficient in the use of computers and various computer programs and online platforms, such as Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite. Be able to exercise independent judgment, make decisions, and assume responsibility within the essential and specific position functions. Demonstrate competence in composing and expressing ideas and thoughts reflective of the values of It Is Written. Be able to exhibit Christ-like behavior and decorum in daily tasks, collaborative projects, and under stress.
