Work full-time with 38 hours per week (7.6 hours per day) and contribute to meaningful outcomes in this high-impact role.About the RoleAs an APS5 Actuary Analyst, you'll support the Scheme Actuary Division in meeting statutory requirements under the NDIS Act. In this professional role, you'll be responsible for performing procedural, administrative, and operational tasks, working within a team to support complex analyses and data-driven insights. Your work will involve stakeholder engagement, providing analytical insights, and offering technical advice on moderately complex to very complex enquiries.Key ResponsibilitiesData Analysis & Reporting: Support the Scheme Actuary Division with data preparation, analysis, and reporting to the Board, Minister, and public.Statistical Modelling: Use statistical techniques to analyze scheme projections, perform cost-benefit analyses, and develop/maintain projection models.Stakeholder Communication: Present analytical outputs to stakeholders clearly and effectively.Data Preparation: Extract, cleanse, and manage data from various sources, advising on data reasonableness checks.Ad Hoc Analysis: Respond to ad hoc modeling requests, produce reports, and prepare tables and charts for high-level reporting.Essential CriteriaExperience: 2-4 years in actuarial, data analytics, or data science.Technical Skills: Proficient in R, with knowledge of GLMs/GBMs, and strong numerical, problem-solving, and statistical modeling skills.SQL/SAS Expertise: Advanced skills in SQL/SAS programming.Qualifications: Relevant tertiary education in Actuarial Studies or Mathematics/Statistics, with progress toward Associate/Fellowship qualifications.Desirable SkillsPolicy Understanding: Ability to interpret and develop policy frameworks.Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.If you're ready to make a difference in the public sector and meet the criteria above, APPLY NOW with your resume in MS Word format.
