Overview
You will provide timely, efficient and effective home help services to clients in the South East region. Your duties may include preparing and serving meals, general housekeeping, cleaning and laundry duties to people who are aged, frail or disabled. These services will allow clients to maintain their homes at a standard of cleanliness and hygiene that is compatible with them remaining in their homes. Vacuuming and sweeping/washing floors, you will assist with cleaning bathroom and toilet facilities, washing dishes, changing bed linen, washing and ironing clothing, and shopping. Home Helpers need to be flexible, conscientious and empathetic and be able to work autonomously in the community. They will work closely and collaboratively with clients, their families and other health professionals, to provide quality outcomes and maintain consumer independence where possible. Limestone Coast LHN supports its staff to further develop their skills across a variety of areas. Ongoing education is encouraged and enables staff to provide quality and responsive services to consumers.
You will have prior experience in a housekeeping role, and have a current driver’s licence and willingness to drive. With a flexible approach to work and rostering systems, you will have the ability to perform tasks under general direction. Your sound interpersonal and communication skills will give you the ability to relate to people from different cultures, backgrounds and circumstances. Along with a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality, you will display empathy towards the elderly and the disabled, and be willing to develop a positive rapport with clients.
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and appropriate immunisation requirements.
