Using new technologies, we operate a 330MW, combined-cycle, gas-fired power station and have the capacity to supply 10 percent of the state's energy needs.The Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Advisor will contribute to the success of NPK's operational interests by ensuring that safety, health, environmental and quality standards are effectively implemented and continuously improved.The successful candidate will champion HSEQ initiatives and support the site team through inspections to recognise hazards, minimise risks and maintain and improve the HSEQ site standards.As the HSEQ Advisor, you will:Provide leadership and guidance on HSEQ matters and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments and audits to identify hazards and implement corrective measures.Lead implementation and monitoring of the Annual Health & Safety Management Plan.Lead incident investigations to identify root causes and develop corrective and preventative actions, document and analyse all incidents to prevent reoccurrence.Collaborate with the Corporate Employee Experience Office to develop and implement health and wellness programs to promote employee well-being and mitigate occupational health risks.Plan and deliver training programs on health and safety, including participation in toolbox sessions and safety campaigns.Oversee environmental compliance with NPK licence conditions and sustainability initiatives and implement strategies to minimise environmental impact and promote environmental awareness among employees.Knowledge and Attributes:Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.Professional certification in safety (e.g. Diploma of Health and Safety) and/or environmental management.Proven experience in a similar role within the Power Generation, Utilities or Heavy Industries Sector.Strong knowledge of safety regulations, environmental standards, quality management systems and incident investigation techniques.Strong communication skills and ability to engage and lead others towards a common goal.Ability to display initiative, be proactive and contribute to continuous improvement.This is a wonderful opportunity for a motivated individual to work with an organisation that values their team and is willing to offer ongoing mentoring and development support.Applicants must be able to provide evidence of their right to work in Australia to be considered for this role.NewGen Power is committed to investing in our people and environment to create a safe and inclusive workplace.
