Your opportunity
This position will be assisting our current Payroll & Finance Team with the end-to-end processing of a large, multi-site and multi-award fortnightly payroll. You will be required to take the lead in this role at times when the current team is unavailable and is therefore a great opportunity for someone keen to expand their payroll & financial accounting experience.
This is a full-time permanent role, working 38 hours per week, based in Spring Hill in Brisbane.
Annual salary is $75,000 - $82,000 (dependent on experience) plus Superannuation and Salary Packaging benefits.
What you’ll bring
With a minimum of 12 months working in a similar role, you will have a keen interest in developing your experience in processing payroll and financial accounting. Along with a great attitude and strong work ethic, you will offer:
* Capacity to support the efficient and accurate processing of the fortnightly payroll and financial accounting processes
* An understanding of salary packaging and coordinating arrangements for employees
* Motivated to learn wage award interpretation, employment contracts, accounting standards and other relevant legislation
* Understanding of Annual Leave, Long Service Leave and Portable Long Service Leave
* Knowledge of General Ledger (GL) reconciliation, EOM financial reporting
* Strong level of confidentiality, attention to detail and accuracy
* Comfortable providing relevant advice, and responding to staff regarding payroll and financial queries relevant to the role
* Solid decision-making skills, able to work to tight deadlines and manage your own workload effectively
* Confidence to provide advice and effectively respond to enquiries from staff, team leaders and managers in matters relating to pay.
* Intermediate/advanced levels in Microsoft applications especially Microsoft Excel with analytical and problem-solving skills
You will either hold, or be studying a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or similar.
