Organisation Overview
Carbal Medical Services (Carbal) is a Not-For-Profit organisation that provides health services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in and around Toowoomba and Warwick. The core function of Carbal Medical Services is to provide medical services to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people through two medical practices and multiple community programs and initiatives. Carbal covers the regions of Darling Downs, Southern Downs and Goondiwindi.
Position Overview
If you are an APS registered psychologist and have a passion for helping to address mental health issues in the community, then we would like to hear from you. This role requires you to:
* Be part of a multidisciplinary team addressing mental health in the community.
* Work one-on-one with clients in a clinical environment.
* Be driven, motivated, and have a passion to assist clients to foster independence and resilience and achieve their goals.
* Possess high-level communication skills, the ability to work independently, and have a thirst to learn.
* Work closely with GPs, Psychologists, and other health professionals.
* Build and maintain respectful and meaningful relationships with community members.

Requirements
* You will be a Medicare Provider.
* You will have a demonstrated understanding of the Mental Health and Social issues found in our Indigenous Communities.
* Be an accredited APS registered psychologist.
* You must have a C Class driver’s license.
* You will have a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
* Previous experience in the NFP, mental health, or disability sectors.
* Experience in working effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and a clear understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Culture.
