The Red Hat Sales team is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to guide the growth and development of Red Hat’s Enterprise business in Melbourne, Australia.
We're looking for a self-driven and creative individual who can showcase Red Hat's portfolio to Operations, Developers, and Technical Leads to our customers in the Enterprise sector. You'll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, such as Kubernetes Security, Service Mesh, GitOps, Software-Defined Storage, and Ansible, providing hands-on experience that will enrich your career.
In this role, you'll be advocating for a "Kubernetes-first" approach to edge, private-cloud, on-premises, and hybrid computing, using Red Hat's industry-leading OpenShift Kubernetes solution as a cornerstone. As a customer-facing representative, you'll need to be an excellent communicator (both written and verbal) and possess strong people skills, as you'll be representing Red Hat at events and technical forums. You'll interact with everyone from CTOs to user groups, highlighting how Red Hat's solutions can solve their problems and transform their business.
What you will do:
1. Gain an in-depth understanding of our customers' business goals, technical objectives and IT environments.
2. Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success and Partner Ecosystem teams to assess the potential application of Red Hat and Partner solutions.
3. Provide pre-sales technical leadership for the development and implementation of complex solutions and services.
4. Develop strategic relationships with our customers to become a trusted advisor.
5. Deliver proof of value to our customers and partners through presentations, demonstrations, workshops and pilot projects.
6. Research and write the responses to technical sections of RFIs, RFPs and RFQs.
7. Coordinate the technical efforts of other Red Hat resources like Product Specialists, Support and Professional Services.
8. Deliver compelling recommendations that result in the closing of new sales.
9. Own and meet a bookings quota and perform regular reviews and reports about the opportunities you are working on.
10. Share your expertise by contributing to documentation (e.g., wikis, quick-start guides, blog posts and white papers), developing reusable assets (e.g., demonstrations, workshops) and presenting at conferences and industry events.
What you will bring:
11. 5 years of Pre-sales, consulting, IT architecture, or equivalent experience in support of enterprise accounts,
12. 3 years of hands-on experience with one or more of the following tools: Kubernetes, Automation, Public Cloud (AWS/Azure), UNIX and Linux systems.
13. Skilled in presenting to small and large groups of mixed audiences, including business, technical, management and leadership teams.
14. Experienced in developing relationships at engineering, commercial and executive levels throughout large enterprise IT organisations.
15. Experienced with modern and emerging technologies including public and private cloud, container orchestration and management, automation and configuration management, DevSecOps and CI/CD, and modern application frameworks.
16. Understanding of complex enterprise solutions and architectures.
17. Collaboration with others and the ability to work well in a team environment.
18. Excellent written communication skills.
19. Willingness to travel within the region.
20. Any Red Hat certification.
