We have a full time Credit Officer position available at our Cairns Head Office.About the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Credit Officer to join our team in Cairns. This role is responsible for managing the credit assessment and collection processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and an assertive yet customer-focused approach to credit and collection tasks.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess and evaluate customer credit applications in accordance with company policies and risk management guidelines.Monitor and manage outstanding accounts, ensuring timely collections and minimising bad debt risk.Conduct credit checks and financial analysis on new and existing customers.Maintain accurate records of customer accounts, payment histories, and credit limits. (Navision System)Communicate effectively with customers regarding overdue accounts, payment plans, and dispute resolution.Work closely with internal teams (e.g., sales, finance, and legal) to mitigate credit risks and ensure smooth transactions.Prepare reports on credit performance, overdue accounts, and risk exposure for management review.Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, industry standards, and company credit policies.Key Selection CriteriaExperience: Previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or financial services.Qualifications: A qualification in credit management, finance, accounting, business, or a related field is preferred but not essential.Skills & Attributes:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.Proficiency in financial software, accounting systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Knowledge of Australian privacy regulations and credit risk management.Please send a detailed resume and cover letter addressing the key criteria and providing examples that demonstrate your ability to perform the role described above.Applicants must have a valid entitlement to work in Australia.
