An exciting opportunity exists for a Civil Plant Engineer in the Upper Tumut region of Snowy Hydro. Reporting to the region's Plant Engineering Manager, this role will provide technical support to the regional maintenance function, incrementally improve the health of the regional civil assets, and serve as a technical and values leader in the region to improve the availability and reliability of regional civil assets.
Working a 4-day week as part of a Drive-in, Drive-out roster in Cabramurra NSW, this opportunity offers the perfect balance for work and play.
As a Civil Plant Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Provide on-site engineering support for assessing asset conditions, identifying defects, and resolving civil infrastructure issues.
Review and update documentation, including ESPOT and drawing verifications.
Coach and mentor members of the maintenance team in the areas of civil asset knowledge.
Collaborate with the Asset Engineering team to ensure solutions align with technical standards and best practices.
Continually review the maintenance process for effectiveness of civil maintenance activities and implement improvements as necessary.
Assist the maintenance team in the development of detailed and effective maintenance instructions.
Identification of civil asset health issues and improvement opportunities through routine maintenance and inspections.
Conduct technical condition assessments to address defects, recommend corrective maintenance, and create/change routine maintenance tasks using the change management process as required.
Conduct root cause analysis investigations as required and contribute to detailed root cause analysis led by Asset Engineering.
Develop and drive the implementation of corrective actions to address the root cause of civil asset defects and risks.
Initiate, plan, and manage the execution of repair and improvement work on civil assets such as roads, aqueducts, drainage systems, intakes, etc. This may include engagement and supervision of specialist civil contractors.
Act as an operational stakeholder for larger civil capital projects to represent the regional interest, contributing to the development of scopes, specifications, tender documents, design and constructability reviews, and support for implementation.
Keep up to date with the corporate environmental management requirements and ensure the region is adequately managing our environmental risks.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Degree qualification in civil engineering.
Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to coach/mentor others.
Strong written and verbal communication capabilities and demonstrated report writing capability.
Ability to interpret technical drawings.
Knowledge of civil maintenance program requirements, analysis techniques, and maintenance management practices.
The ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders to provide a consistent, reliable, and high level of service.
Computer skills including spreadsheets and computerised maintenance management systems (e.g., Ellipse, SAP, Pronto, etc.).
This is a DIDO position based in the township of Cabramurra, NSW - relocation package available for the right candidate.
This is an ongoing, full time role with Snowy Hydro (not for our Snowy 2.0 project).
