Department of Corrections, Strategy and Performance Darwin, Northern Territory Full time ongoing appointment Use your expertise to develop and implement workforce strategies that improve staff retention and wellbeing in a complex front line services workplace. The Northern Territory Department of Corrections is made up of correctional and community officers and professional managerial and administrative staff, who work together to keep the community safe and reduce re-offending. The Department provides custodial service for prisoners within secure facilities and supervision for community based adult offenders to ensure compliance with court and Parole Board Orders.
As the Manager Workforce Engagement and Wellbeing, your primary objective is to lead and manage the development and coordination of the Departments workforce engagement and wellbeing strategies, including design and implementation of initiatives focused on improving staff retention, performance management, leadership development and staff engagement in a complex workplace.
Your key responsibilities include:
Providing advice and guidance on wellbeing strategies, plans and best practices that support resilience-building and psychosocial risk management. Fostering a positive organisational culture that enhances employee physical and mental wellbeing. This is a new role and an exciting opportunity to use your proven leadership qualities, sound knowledge and understanding of contemporary best practices in workforce engagement and wellbeing, and your well-developed judgement, conceptual and analytical ability to produce meaningful reports, plans and strategies.
The key to your success will be your highly developed communication skills, ability to develop productive working relationships and your high level self-management, motivation and organisational ability.
Proven performance providing high-level client services, a positive response to change and a commitment to continuous improvement is essential.
