Country ArtsSA is seeking applications from highly motivated, strategic andfinancial leaders who are energetic and critical thinkers for theposition of Chief Financial Officer.
About theRole
The ChiefFinancial Officer is a new, key strategic role and member of theleadership team responsible for business strategy and planning andfor building the organisation’s financial sustainability; andreporting across non-financial business drivers includingoverseeing corporate governance performance, risk, and control andfor ensuring IT and Infrastructure are fit for purpose. The rolealso contributes to the creation of business developmentinitiatives that build strong foundations for theorganisation.
Your dutieswill include:
1. Developing and delivering strategic financial sustainability (economic, environmental, and social equity).
2. With the CE, work effectively with the Board, and have oversight and responsibility for the Governance and Finance Committee.
3. Oversee and steer the organisation’s finances and financial reporting including the preparation of longer-term financial projections, assessing, and reporting on financial risks and strategies to monitor, manage and mitigate these risks.
4. Lead the development of the organisation’s policy framework, procurement, risk management, asset management and reduction of the organisation’ environmental impact.
5. Lead the design, reporting and implementation of analytics that supports strategic and operational priorities.
6. Lead business development initiatives that build the organisation’s viability, with a focus on the Arts Centres.
7. Ensure operational excellence in relation to the Finance function, responsible for streamlining finance functions and quality.
8. Lead, manage and develop a team that is inspired to continuously improve and build a sustainable framework for the future of the organisation.
9. Facilitate the transformation of the organisation’s compliance IT and Infrastructure to support the needs of the organisation and meet industry benchmark.
We arelooking for someone who has:
10. Extensive experience in a similar leadership role, utilising strategic planning and critical thinking to steer the sustainability and growth of the organisation.
11. Sound experience in developing, interpreting, and analysing strategy or policy, identifying priorities with Boards, senior executives in government or the private sector.
12. Substantial experience in corporate governance, audit, risk management, intellectual property, procurement, legal and compliance frameworks.
13. Proven track record in finance, with extensive experience in financial management and reporting/analytics and business performance and in delivering successful business development initiatives.
14. Experience interpreting legislation, accounting standards and Government accounting principles in relation to budget preparation, analysis and reporting in making informed financial management recommendations.
15. Self-starter able to work at both strategic and detailed level, work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines and high-level communication and interpersonal skills.
16. Supportive and consultative team building style with a proven ability to lead, manage, inspire, and coach staff.
17. Sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety, ICT systems and the management of capital projects.
18. Previous experience in an Arts industry accounting or finance environment and in managing Performing Arts Centres is desirable.
Essential:
19. Must be CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand certified.
20. Must hold an appropriate degree in accounting, finance or economics majoring in accounting.
21. Hold a current Australian Driver’s License.

22. Attendance at Governance and Finance and Board meetings which necessitates occasional intrastate travel and occasional out of hours or interstate travel work may be required.
23. A valid Department of Human Services Child Related Employment Screening is required.
