An exciting opportunity exists with the Youth Early Psychosis team, to provides mental health treatment and interventions to adolescents and young people aged 12-25 years (and their families and carers), who are suspected of experiencing their first episode of psychosis (FEP), and would likely benefit from intensive/specialist, multidisciplinary MHAOD clinical assessment and care. As a highly functioning multidisciplinary team member, deliver high level [discipline] clinical services and leadership across one or more specific work units, to stakeholders/customers of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service and Queensland Health.
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
1. Deliver high level Psychology/Occupational Therapy/Social work clinical services and leadership across one or more specific work units, to stakeholders/customers of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) referred to Youth Early Psychosis Program
2. Provision of high level independent clinical services including assessment using psychosis specific standardised tools, diagnostic clarification, treatment and case management to youth aged 12-25 experiencing first episode psychosis (FEP)
3. Demonstrate clinical leadership in advocacy for the mental health needs of service consumers and their carers and relevant agencies within the mental health team.
4. Demonstrate high level knowledge and skills in a practice area of FEP including individual and group interventions: Psychological therapies e.g., substance use, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBTp) for positive psychotic symptoms, social skills training for negative symptoms and social deficits, family interventions: supporting the wellbeing, coping abilities, education, and awareness to provide a safer family environment.
Remuneration value up to $152,776 p.a., comprising salary between $124,435 - $133,901 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4).
