About the Role
The Senior Network Engineer to oversee and lead our organisation's network infrastructure projects and enhancements. The engineer is responsible for supporting key projects within required quality, schedule, and budget constraints.
Focusing on the design, delivery, and documentation of network infrastructure and to support cloud connectivity and new building projects, upgrades/enhancements to existing buildings, and other assets. Travel between Perth locations and to other domestic locations is expected as part of this role. This role will also proactively identify and execute against opportunities for continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
Network Infrastructure:
* Oversee the design, architecture, implementation, and maintenance of the organisation’s enterprise network infrastructure, including: WAN, LAN, wireless networks, and cloud connectivity. Technologies involved include Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto, Netskope, MPLS, SD-WAN, SASE, AWS/Azure Cloud.
* Lead the development of network architectural blueprints, standardisation, roadmaps, strategies and procurement.
* Monitor network infrastructure performance and security metrics, and implement improvements as needed, delivering reporting on the overall health of infrastructure.
* Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure the timely delivery of infrastructure services and support.
* Ensure the availability, performance, and scalability of network and infrastructure components to meet business requirements.
Project Delivery:
* Manage and/or oversee multiple parallel network infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet quality, schedule and budget constraints.
* Engage with both in-house and vendor delivery teams to ensure outcomes are delivered in alignment with business requirements.
* Support business/IT leadership to develop business cases for new solutions which enhance the value of our assets and/or the value they deliver.
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels to understand business needs and translate them into solutions.
* Develop and provide high quality technical documentation (low-level and high-level design) and procedures to enable a smooth transition to production support by the Managed Service Provider (MSP) and other vendors as appropriate.
Infrastructure Service Delivery:
* Partner with the Managed Service Provider (MSP) and other vendors as required to ensure that customer service expectations and contractual terms are met in relation to network and infrastructure services.
* Proactively identify and execute against opportunities for continuous improvement with a focus on improving availability and stability of service and enhanced customer experience.
* Contribute to a highly collaborative ‘one team’ ethos between Tattarang IT and MSP team members to ensure we have a stable infrastructure environment with high availability
Qualifications
About You
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent worked experience.
* Strong understanding of cyber security principles, practices, and technologies, including network security, cloud engineering, intrusion detection/prevention, and vulnerability management.
* Experience with infrastructure technologies such as virtualization, SDN, cloud computing, containerization, SASE and SDWAN.
* Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards (e.g. NIST, E8, ISO 27001).
* Industry certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or AWS Certified Networking).
* Construction white card advantageous.
