Centacare Family Services offers relationship and community services to individuals, couples, and families.
Centacare Family Services is currently seeking expressions of interest from suitably experienced and qualified support workers to join our Geraldton based team.
A remuneration package based on the SCHCADS Award 2010 will be offered based on skills and experience. This is a full-time position, working 38 hours per week, level 4.1 of $43.08 per hour.
Key Functions
* Identify, engage, and support individuals and families who are rough sleeping in Geraldton, based on the Housing First Model and a collective impact approach.
* The service will ensure people who are sleeping rough are effectively linked with appropriate support services including health, mental health, employment, financial management, and social support.
* Ensuring Housing First Support Services housed clients are provided with ongoing support to maintain their tenancy.
* Provide and attend outreach services at multiple locations.
* Facilitate and participate in stakeholder meetings.
Qualifications
* Formal qualification in a related Social Services or AOD field.
Selection Criteria and Experience
* Experience working with people experiencing homelessness, or lived experience of mental health issues, or AOD.
* Sound knowledge of the health, mental health, AOD, legal, housing, and mainstream support services available in Geraldton.
* Understanding of issues affecting First Nations people, homelessness, intergenerational trauma, and cultural sensitivity.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability and confidence to drive a heavy-duty crafter van.
* An open and welcoming approach to dealing with clients in a neutral, impartial, and non-judgmental manner.
* Ability to work within the philosophy and ethos of Centacare.
A remuneration package based on the SCHCADS Award 2010 plus superannuation and salary sacrifice option will be provided based on skills and experience.
