Australian Department of Defence – Russell ACT 2 days ago, from Australian Department of Defence $83,706 - $89,659 + up to 15.4% Superannuation Russell Offices, Canberra - ACT The RoleThe APS 5 Capability Costing Officer will provide support and assistance to the various functions of the Capability Costing Branch.This will include contributing to cost assurance, cost recovery and cost estimation operations.The APS 5 Capability Costing Officer will form part of a high performing and inclusive team providing subject matter expertise across the spectrum of capability costing within Defence.Under the direction of senior team members, the APS 5 Capability Costing Officer will contribute to processes including: Reviewing cost estimates to ensure they comply with the Defence Cost Estimation Standards; Providing advice and recommendations to improve the quality of cost estimates; Working with project teams to develop life cycle cost estimates; Supporting senior CCB team members in the preparation of briefs for decision makers; Working with project managers, schedulers and risk managers to understand the cost implications of schedule, uncertainty and risk; Supporting the development of next-generation costing tools and processes.
