About the role
WorkPac is recruiting for a Senior Systems Engineer to join the RSAT Research and Development team based at Paraburdoo to lead a team in improving small fleet effectiveness in mining operations. The role involves managing daily technology activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and guiding system design and integration.
Key responsibilities
* Resolve complex issues and define improvement plans.
* Monitor site performance and recommend changes.
* Define business and systems solutions from technology development.
* Ensure compliance with standards and maintain safety plans.
* Collaborate with stakeholders for safe technology operation.
* Ensure requirements meet business needs and lead handover of methodologies.
* Support development of analysis tools and testing processes.
* Support integration of data feeds and identify deployment processes.
* Analyze impacts of new technologies and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Skills and experience required
* 5+ years of experience in implementing and maintaining technology solutions in mining environments.
* Advanced knowledge of system/functional safety methodologies.
* Bachelors degree in Engineering (desirable).
* Advanced computing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (PPT, Word, MS Project).
* Experience with machine automation, programming, AI, or robotics.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to monitor site performance and provide expert advice.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Experience managing small teams and guiding colleagues in resolving complex issues.
* Good understanding of safe work procedures and best practices in mining operations.
* Ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders effectively.
