We are seeking trade-qualified Diesel Fitters to join our new Liberty Street branch in Cairns, the largest CRG centre in Far North Queensland! Become a vital part of Hastings Deering’s next chapter and join our team today. There are multiple Permanent Monday to Friday positions available!
As a Diesel Fitter in our new branch you will:
1. Work with new state-of-the-art machinery and learn from skilled technicians
2. Repair, maintain and service key CAT machinery and components
3. Equipment Assembly of Caterpillar equipment
4. Use Caterpillar Diagnostic Systems (ET Vims, SIMSi and SIS)
5. Perform diagnostic assessments on mining, general construction, and power generation equipment
6. Work as part of a skilled and driven team
7. Work in a fast-paced environment to achieve target times for repairs

About You
A successful teammate will have:
18. Certificate III in Engineering and Mechanical or similar qualifications
19. Demonstrated service and repair experience on heavy machinery
20. Experience on Caterpillar Diagnostic Systems or similar experience in motor mechanics and agriculture/sugar farming
21. Proven ability to maintain a high level of workplace health and safety
22. A customer driven focus and commitment to continuous improvement
23. Excellent time management skills and a strong commitment to quality control
