Job Title: Chief Engineer (CENG) Thaiyak and Bay Class
The Australian Border Force (ABF) is seeking experienced professionals to fill the role of Chief Engineer (CENG) for the Thaiyak and Bay Class vessels.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the Marine Engineering Department on the vessel, ensuring the operation and maintenance of all fitted plant and equipment.
* Assume control of the ship's damage control organisation in an emergency situation, coordinating the whole ship response.
* Work closely with the Commanding Officer (CO) to ensure the availability of mission-critical systems and capabilities.
Requirements:
* Engineer Watchkeeper Certificate of Competency (Marine Order 72 and STCW regulation III/1).
* Engineer Class 3 Near Coastal Certificate of Competency (Marine Order 505).
Deputy Engineer (DENG) Cape Class
The Deputy Engineer (DENG) deployed aboard ABFC undertake marine engineering activities under limited supervision, according to operational command principles and relative to their level of Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) Certification and risk delegation assigned by their issued ABF Technical Authority (TA).
Eligibility:
* Be an Australian Citizen.
* Obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance.
