This is a varied role and includes in field and office-based activities across the diverse range of job sites in the region. In this role, you will utilise your existing expertise to focus on process improvement projects and mentoring the work crews and their leaders towards a continuously improving safety culture.Duties include:Providing onsite support to infrastructure crews on various civil construction job sites across the regionIdentifying and initiating safety related process improvement projectsConducting risk assessments & safety observationsIdentifying safety learningsProviding coaching on safety procedures to staff and managementTo be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:Qualifications in Work Health & Safety or related discipline.Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers’ licence.General Construction Industry Card.Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in the interpretation and application of Work Health & Safety Act 2011, Regulations 2011.Demonstrated experience implementing safety processes and initiatives which have improved safety performance.Demonstrated experience in incident investigations (e.g. ICAM, 5 Why’s) involving internal and external parties.Demonstrated experience in developing and reviewing safety management systems documents, specifically safe operating procedures and safe work method statements.Demonstrated skills in dealing confidently, courteously, tactfully, and diplomatically to all levels within the organisation, along with high-level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated capability in building an effective and proactive safety culture, delivering high satisfaction and quality partnerships.Well-developed team-work skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across the organisation.Working for Central Highlands Regional Council has its benefits.We are a progressive region, committed in creating opportunities for all.
