Job Description:
Our client, a prestigious ASX listed company based in Western Australia, is seeking an experienced Senior Exploration Geologist to join their team on a contract basis with the potential for permanency.
This role reports directly to the head of Exploration and involves overseeing the planning and performance of exploration programs.
* The ideal candidate will be based in Perth or have the ability to relocate there.
* A current manual Australian driver's licence is also required.
* A tertiary degree in Geology or a related discipline is essential.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Excellent communication skills and experience mentoring junior professionals.
* 10+ years' experience in the gold mining and exploration industry, including time as a Resource Geologist.
* Previous experience working with the Department of Mines and Industry Relations and knowledge of the Department of Environment's reporting requirements.
* Working knowledge of image preparation for ASX announcements, cross-sections, geochemical data sets, geological maps and 3D thinking.
* Experience in planning exploration programs and understanding staged exploration approach methods.
* Utilization of geological ranking systems and target databases.
* Demonstrated skills in geological interpretation and understanding of resource estimation techniques.
* Good understanding of tenement management requirements.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, 3D modeling software and GIS Packages.
Responsibilities:
* Undertaking planning, management and implementation of drilling programs on time and within budget.
* Generating, ranking and testing new and existing targets.
* Contributing to statutory and company reports.
* Utilizing geophysical, geochemical and geological data to interpret projects and perform geological modeling.
* Management of consultants, staff and drilling contractors.
* Developing regional geologic maps and resource models for exploration projects.
