About the Role
Applications are being sought for a Vessel Engineer position on board Quicksilver’s fleet of vessels in Port Douglas. Generally, you will work 7:00am to 5:15pm, 5 days a week with an RDO every 3 weeks; flexibility for weekend work will apply.
Reporting to the Marine Operations Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
Maintenance, repair and engineering duties
Assisting with the day-to-day operation of the vessel
Maintenance, repair and engineering duties of all mechanical systems on a 30m High-Speed Catamaran, including:
Deutz Main Engines
Cummins Generators
Hydraulic Ride Control and Steering Systems
Work with a team of motivated marine and workshop professionals to ensure the safety and condition of company assets are maintained to a high standard
Watchkeeping and mentoring of junior staff

About You
Strong leadership skills and ability to work well in a team environment
A current qualification of Marine Engine Driver Grade 1
Experience with Detroit, MTU, Cummins, Scania and Deutz Diesel Engines is desirable
A Coxswain or Master
