About Your Role The Intellectual Disability Clinician will inform and guide the Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) mainstream health staff on the delivery of care for people with intellectual disability and their carers and families. The position will lead the development of appropriate clinical practice for patients/clients with intellectual disability and their carers and families in any hospital or site in the local health district. The Intellectual Disability Clinician will link with Western NSW LHD Specialist Intellectual Disability Health Team, who will assist the MLHD Intellectual Disability clinician in developing and delivering outreach in the district. The outreach service will include multidisciplinary assessment and care planning for people with complex health needs and intellectual disability and activity to build the skills, confidence, and experience of mainstream clinicians. This is a maternity leave relief opportunity, working in partnership with the incumbent clinician and is open to a range of Allied Health Professionals, including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapist, Speech Pathologists and Social Workers.
