About the Role
We are looking for a high performing mid-senior level lawyer in Brisbane.
Reporting into our fabulous Head of Corporate and Commercial Legal, and supported by a number of experienced legal counsel, this role is responsible for providing legal services and support to multiple business and head office support units across our BOQ Group, including Group Technology, Procurement Third party Relationships, Corporate Development (M&A), Group Finance, Treasury and CEO Office.
An area of focus will be our technology and commercial contracting space. Across our multi-brands you will be required to provide legal advice and support (including drafting and negotiating) on a wide range of commercial agreements including master services agreements, material statements of work, SaaS agreements, complex software licences, white label arrangements and other bespoke agreements.
You will also have the opportunity to provide strategic input and legal solutions on other business matters including group transformation projects, outsourcing arrangements, M&A transactions, corporate restructures, funding arrangements, capital market transactions and annual disclosure reviews. More generally you will be part of the team providing corporate advisory legal advice to all business units serviced by the Corporate and Commercial Legal team.

About you
We’re seeking someone with a strong commercial acumen and the capability to provide solutions-focused, commercial legal advice to a diverse variety of stakeholders – this role would suit someone who possess a relationship-oriented mindset, with excellent communication and organization skills and has the capacity to work autonomously as well as part of teams or projects.
To be successful:
* You will be admitted as a legal practitioner in Australia (ideally 6-8 years PQE).
* Private practice or in-house experience which involved technology contracting, outsourcing, and general commercial vendor contract reviews and negotiations, would be advantageous.
* You will have strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to negotiate and draft on material agreements of strategic importance to the BOQ Group.
* Ability to draft, review and negotiate technology and commercial contracts to ensure they meet our third-party contract standards.
* Knowledge of technology law, operational risk management regulations, privacy and data protection, including APRA and other prudential standards which apply to Australian ADI’s, Corporations Act, ASX Listing Rules will be considered favourably.
* You will have the ability to manage multiple projects and tight timeframes effectively.
