Reporting to the Chief Nurse (National Director Professional Practice) and working closely with the Principal Nurse Engagement, this role is responsible for leading the policy and advisory team in the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic policy frameworks. You will also oversee the provision of expert informed advice on a broad range of issues related to the profession and healthcare more broadly. The role will also take a leadership role in initiating and progressing a range of professional projects including the Nursing Pathways project.To be successful in the role you will need to have strong leadership skills together with a broad range of experience, including in a policy related area, and proven ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders to build strong and effective partnerships. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!To be considered for this exciting role, you will need to meet the following selection criteria and demonstrate how you meet these in a covering letter:Please note applications that do not include a cover letter addressing all the selection criteria and a CV will not be considered.Selection CriteriaA Registered Nurse with a minimum of Five years’ experience, with a proven track record in nursing leadership roles.Demonstrated experience in developing and/or implementing healthcare related policy.Proven ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrated well-developed communication skills including the ability to prepare high quality communications and presentations.Strong analytical skills, an ability to gather information from a range of sources and make sense of data.Proven well-developed interpersonal, problem solving and time management skills.Relevant post-graduate qualification in nursing, health, policy, education or research fields.Experience in peak body, membership organisation or government policy area will be highly regarded.Please note: this is a permanent full-time position.
