DXC Practice for Oracle provides dynamic technology leadership in delivering Oracle Cloud solutions, with a full continuum of services around Oracle’s integrated suite of applications, platform services, and engineered systems.We are seeking an OCI Infrastructure Architect & Team Lead with deep experience in Oracle-based environments to join our well-respected Cloud & Infrastructure Team. This role will be primarily architecting and – importantly! – hands-on implementation/support of OCI-based infrastructure solutions for a wide variety of customers, as well as supporting team members in building components as part of these solutions. This will also extend to providing OCI SME guidance and support for BAU infrastructure requirements.Essential Job Functions Assist in managing a team responsible for Oracle-based Infrastructure project and operational deliverablesGathers technical requirements and translates requirements into infrastructure and software capabilitiesImplements project infrastructure build deliverables, and provides ongoing BAU support/guidance thereafterCommunicates technical architecture direction and coordinates technical proof of concept analysesAssists in solving technical and performance problems within the technical infrastructureParticipates in providing gap analyses, from a technical perspective, highlighting current state, future state, client needs, best practices and competitionInteracts with confidence and ease when interacting with middle- and senior-level managers; uses complex strategies like indirect influence to build consensus and supportAssists sales staff in qualifying leads and generating proposalsProvides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnelCommunicates in formal presentation settings including proposal orals, client workshops and regional internal events; develops proposal sections, methodology work products and formal written deliverables covering area(s) of expertise Basic Qualifications Consulting experience with technical architecture analysis, design and implementation in Oracle-based environments (including OCI) – at least 5 yearsStrong Linux (OEL/RHEL) and/or UNIX (Solaris/AIX) system administration skills – at least 5 yearsOCI infrastructure architecting with recent hands-on OCI implementation and BAU support experience – at least 4 yearsTeam Lead experience – at least 2 yearsAdministration and implementation experience with Oracle ExaCS (OCI Exadata Cloud Service) – at least 2 yearsStrong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to consult with & guide clients up to CxO levelBachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experienceMust be physically based in Australia – any Australian state is acceptable, but Victoria preferredMust be able to obtain an Australian security clearance – minimum Baseline, preferred NV2 Other Qualifications Oracle DBA experience, or strong familiarity in supporting Oracle DBAs on Oracle-based infrastructureRelevant OCI & Oracle certificationsProven technical infrastructure design skillsExperience implementing & managing infrastructure on Azure and/or AWS cloudsExposure to Terraform and/or AnsibleAbility to convey a strong presence, professional image, and deal confidently with complex technical problemsAbility to manage competing priorities in a complex environmentAbility to devise creative technical solutions Work Environment Hybrid – primarily WFH, but with regular office attendanceMay require evening or weekend work DXC Culture & Benefits DXC Technology is dedicated to ‘putting its people first’.
