Sales Engineer Role
Reporting to the Senior Director, Sales of Optus Wholesale & Satellite, the Sales Engineers role is to provide technical advice and expertise to Account Managers and Service Providers/Carriers to assist in the development of long-term profitable business relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the primary technical contact for Service Providers/Carriers, ensuring ongoing support and satisfaction.
* Maintain a deep understanding of customer systems and market competition to provide strategic solutions.
* Stay updated on telecommunications industry trends and enhance the knowledge of the Sales team.
* Work with product managers to interpret customer needs for future product enhancements.
* Provide technical guidance to customers regarding software and hardware updates.
* Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, and Product Management to support system design and sales.
* Design and configure standard products and services for effective network integration.
* Develop and deliver technical presentations to both customers and internal stakeholders.
* Communicate customer requirements back to Optus and coordinate resources to deliver tailored solutions.
* Drive process improvement through automation and contribute to annual business goals.
Requirements:
* Ability to work independently while thinking strategically for long-term benefits to Optus Wholesale and Optus.
* Strong sense of personal commitment, accountability, and ownership.
* Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and persuasive communication skills.
* Extensive telecommunications industry experience and deep technological knowledge.
* Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and active listening skills.
* Highly analytical with strong problem-solving capabilities.
* Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving market environment.
* Proactive in building and maintaining professional relationships at all levels within customer organisations and Optus.
