Joining the Assistant in Nursing Casual Pool at Cowell and Cleve MPS, this role presents an opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience in nursing activities. The Assistant in Nursing supports Enrolled and Registered Nurses/Midwives in basic nursing duties for patients/clients that would otherwise have been performed by an Enrolled or Registered Nurse/Midwife. The position is primarily located at Cowell and Cleve but the incumbent maybe required to work from other sites within Eyre and Far North Local Health Network (EFNLHN) area. The applicants must be enrolled as a student in an undergraduate program in nursing or midwifery (can state year of program eg 3rd year) and have completed any training required by the employer relevant to the safe and competent performance of work at this level; or be employed on the basis that the person is, or will be, undertaking a course approved by the Registration Authority for the preparation of Enrolled Nurses; or hold a Certificate III or IV in one of the following health related disciplines:
3. Basic Health Care;
4. Aged Care;
5. Health Services Assistance: (Qualifications to include elective units recommended for AIN Acute care);
6. Home and Community Care;
7. Individual Support Work;
8. Or such other nationally recognised courses approved within the healthcare setting by full agreement of DHA and the ANMF
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Screening/Check and specific immunisation requirements. COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement under the Public Health Act 2011 (Healthcare Setting Workers Vaccination) (COVID-19) to work in SA Health/health care setting.
