Job Description2025 Internship Intake(12 weeks, unpaid)An unpaid internship opportunity exists to join a dynamic team delivering datacentre, internet andvoice services across 14 data centres from around Australia.
This growing organisation isexperiencing phenomenal growth in their main three product areas:• Internet and Data• Voice and Telephony• Servers and StorageThe role involves providing first level contact and basic IT support to our clients and channelpartners, as well as providing our staff with back office support for accounts, billing andorder processing.
Sales and lead generation is expected within the role in order to provide aholistic approach to client management.
This is a challenging role that will push thesuccessful candidate to the limit, with 100% effort required each and every day into the role.Duties to include• Provide 1st Level support calls for end customers and channel partners via phone, and email support requests.• Liaise with internal and external Level 2 and Level 3 support and update clients on the status of support requests• Assist Level 2 and Level 3 engineers and co-ordinate with end users fault reports and status updates.• Assisting other team members with Network Operations Centre (NOC) functions and informing end users of scheduled and unscheduled outages• Order and coordinate ADSL, NBN and Internet services with carriers for end users and channel partners (via Telstra Wholesale, Optus Wholesale, AAPT, NBNCo, etc)• Process voice service orders and assist in the processing of monthly voice billing• Provide quotes for everything from simple ADSL and NBN services, through to Ethernet over Copper and Fibre orders and data centre services• Participate in sales and lead generation activities like cold calling, business walk canvassing and potential customer canvassing• Computer, Server and Router assembly, configuration and deployment• Onsite configuration, testing and deployment of Internet and voice services• Provide updates to end users and channel partners on Internet/Voice/Server order progress• Assist channel partners and end users with their voice, Internet and telephony requirements and configure hosted PBX systems as per end user's requirements.• Create and document procedures for helpdesk and ordering processes to improve office efficiency.• Collection of mail and packages from different VMvault locations and data centres• Basic office cleaning and basic office maintenance• Go the extra mile to give fantastic service to awesome clients and channel partners• Other general office administrative tasks as directedRequirementsMandatory Skills• Excellent English skills in both verbal and written communications is mandatory• Tertiary Education within the IT discipline (Degree or TAFE minimum)• Impeccable phone manner, as the role is front customer and partner facing• Knowledge of Helpdesk process and escalation procedures• Accuracy and attention to detailDesirable Skills• Previous experience in order processing and client account management• Technical Support Representative experience• Previous experience working for an IT company, working for an ISP ornetwork provider advantageous• Skills or experience working on ADSL and NBN internet technologies• Experience with Ethernet over Copper and Fibre Internet technologieswould be beneficial• Voice over IP and SIP telephony experience• Sales and customer negotiation or cold calling skills would be advantageous.• Strong work ethic and ability to manage work effectivelyBenefitsWhat's in it for you?• Industry Experience (12 weeks – unpaid)• Chance to earn a full-time position within the company• Small company, where you have the chance to make a real difference• Collaborative, friendly team culture• Support for training and learning• Working with the best team in the industry - learn from our experts• Great office location• Challenging projects and access to new technologies• Work in an environment encouraging you to be the best you can beRequirementsMandatory Skills • Excellent English skills in both verbal and written communications is mandatory • Tertiary Education within the IT discipline (Degree or TAFE minimum) • Impeccable phone manner, as the role is front customer and partner facing • Knowledge of Helpdesk process and escalation procedures • Accuracy and attention to detail Desirable Skills • Previous experience in order processing and client account management • Technical Support Representative experience • Previous experience working for an IT company, working for an ISP or network provider advantageous • Skills or experience working on ADSL and NBN internet technologies • Experience with Ethernet over Copper and Fibre Internet technologies would be beneficial • Voice over IP and SIP telephony experience • Sales and customer negotiation or cold calling skills would be advantageous.
