Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment, and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.About The RoleWe are seeking a values-driven Cook who will prepare food in line with TSA standards with assistance from other staff and volunteers.
The Café Cook will support the Café Team leader in the effective operation of the Café, focusing on the delivery of excellent food and customer service, whilst minimising costs.You Will SuccessfullyPrepare, present and serve meals with the support of employees and volunteers.Ensure food served is fresh, presented in an attractive manner and meets food quality standards.Ensure all meals are prepared with minimum wastageEnsure food preparation and storage areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness as required by legislation, best practice and kitchen cleaning guidelinesEnsure the hygiene of the kitchen area is maintained ensuring food is handled and prepared and stored in line with Australian Food Safety Standards, TSA policies and procedures and government regulations.You Will HavePaid WWCC/Blue Card requireRelevant qualifications and/or experience in food preparation and cooking in a commercial environmentMinimum two years previous food service experienceWHS – knowledge of work health safety obligations and to practice these in the workplace in line with TSA policy & procedures and legislation.Food Safety CertificateManagement of volunteers (desirable)Professional development required to maintain skills for the role.This is a casual position located in Bundaberg, QLD.
