Responsibilities
:
Reporting to the Operations Manager - Southern Livestock, you will be responsible for:
1. Overseeing all farm operations.
2. Collaborating with the Operations Manager in the oversight of livestock management epassing herd health, herd nutrition, mustering and animal husbandry tasks.
3. Engaging in fencing and weed control activities.
4. Undertaking general farm duties including repairs and maintenance.
5. Supervising the implementation and embedding of safety processes and systems on farm.
6. Contributing to a positive and productive working environment.
7. Acting as a role model by demonstrating precise and safe work behaviours and reinforcing policies and procedures.
Requirements
To be successful in this position:
8. You will have demonstrated station experience, either as a Station Hand, Leading Hand or Overseer.
9. You will have previous livestock handling experience (preferably with your own working dogs).
10. You will be open minded, willing to learn and be prepared to adopt new and innovative management practices.
11. You will have a proven track record operating machinery and have sound mechanical knowledge.
12. Ideally you will be a proficient welder/fabricator and be apetent with fencing and yard building tasks.
13. You will have strong people management skills.
14. You will have goodmunication skills.
15. You will hold a current manual driver's licence (a heavy vehicle license would be desirable)
16. You will be flexible, reliable, and available to work hours which may vary to meet operational demands (on occasions this will include Saturday and Sunday work)
17. You will have a positive, can-do attitude.
Benefits
18. Apetitive base salary, between $70,000 - $90,000 (plus superannuation), dependent on your previous experience, skills, qualifications and amodation/housing requirements.
19. Your package will include a work vehicle and mobile phone. Amodation/housing is available and will be provided as part of a total package if required by the successful candidate.
20. Salary continuance and life insurance (subject to eligibility criteria).
21. Annual discretionary bonus (subject to eligibility criteria).
