LET'S EXPLORE THE JOB Our Building team are seeking a motivated, passionate, customer focused and highly organised registered Building Surveyor to join our progressive Development Assessment and Certification department.
With a growth-orientated mindset and a dedication to building strong connections with our customers you will play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting clients through the complexities of the building assessment and certification process. Our team is committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences in the assessment, processing, and determination of a diverse range of development and construction applications across our local government area.
Your key responsibilities are:
Assess and determine a high volume of development applications, construction certificates and complying development certificatesUndertake the role of Registered Certifier and Principal Certifier in accordance with relevant legislationProvide specialist and technical advice and opinions to Councillors, staff and external stakeholdersFacilitate outcomes between affected parties and Council regarding development assessment and certification activitiesInvestigate and resolve compliance and regulatory matters on behalf of CouncilOur ideal candidate is a registered professional who places the customer at the heart of their work, approaches challenges with a "how can we" mindset, and is passionate about educating and engaging with customers to create meaningful impact.

Specifically, you will have:
Degree or Graduate Diploma in Building or other suitable qualification relevant to the field of expertise, with extensive development assessment and certification experienceRegistered with NSW Fair Trading as a Building Surveyor restricted (class 1 and 10 buildings) in accordance with NSW Building and Development Certifiers Regulation 2020Demonstrated commitment to working within a teamDemonstrated commitment to the delivery of exceptional customer experiencesAbility to articulate and negotiate outcomes in accordance with legislation and Council's policiesDemonstrated organisation skills with a proven ability to prioritise high volume workloadsAn understanding of cost structures associated with developments, seeking to minimise applicant's costs by the efficient processing of applicationsLET'S REVEAL THE PERKS Competitive salary from $1756.16 to $2040.96 a week plus industry-leading 12 per cent superannuation
