This position will provide the opportunity for someone comfortable with the policy development process, and great organisational and communication skills to increase their visibility and impact at a senior level.
The successful canditate will manage a small team and collaborate within and external to the team to challenge and resolve complex policy issues. The role will manage public consultation, partner and stakeholder engagement on a draft Victorian Waterway Management Strategy, close the loop on feedback, and finalise, publish and release the strategy by mid 2025.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
1. An appropriate qualification in environmental science, natural resource management or approved equivalent is highly desirable.
2. Significant knowledge and experience in project management within Victorian Government and experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders in waterway and catchment management.
3. Knowledge of the Victorian Aboriginal Affairs framework and a demonstrated commitment to and experience in Traditional Owner self-determination in management of land and/ or waters
This is a fixed term position available until 31 December 2025. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
