About the Role The newly established Home Ecosystem Value Stream, part of Innovation, Partnerships, and Design, is dedicated to creating products and services that empower Australians on their home-buying journey. We collaborate with strategic partners across various sectors, including Property Technology and Artificial Intelligence, to deliver exceptional value to homeowners. Operating in cross-functional agile delivery squads, we build and deliver a suite of highly engaging digital features within ANZ Plus. As the Chapter Lead in this dynamic team, you will lead a group of engineers to drive the development of innovative systems and services within our next-gen banking platform. Your leadership will be key in redefining the homeowner experience and fostering a culture of engineering excellence on greenfield projects. As a Chapter Lead, you will bring domain knowledge or deep expertise on a specific topic and develop this expertise and T-shaped capability in your chapter members. Along with Product Owners and coaches, Chapter Leads care for and nurture the growth of their chapter members to ensure they are inspired by a sense of purpose and are continually building their mastery and autonomy. Chapter Leads are not full-time managers; they work as a squad member for 60% of their time and manage people (across squads) for 40% of their time. Lead and mentor a team of engineers to design, build, and optimize services that provide unique value to homeowners, ensuring high-quality end-to-end feature delivery. Implement best practices throughout the development process. Drive team vision and strategy that align with business goals and values. Cultivate a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, fostering mentorship, collaboration, and knowledge sharing within the team. What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: Software architecture patterns and principles. You are a champion of native mobile apps, providing amazing experiences, and leveraging native capabilities (e.g. Responsive, performant, and accessible UIs). Unit testing best practices. Security principles, best practices, and APIs. Strong leadership skills, developing and retaining high performance Mobile Engineers. You're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
