Mount Hawthorn Primary School (PS) opened in 1906 and is situated on Whadjuk Noongar boodja. The school caters for 980 students in Kindergarten to Year 6 with four to six classes per year level, and offers exceptional opportunities for students in science, music, sport, Aboriginal culture, and visual art. The Role
The prospect of an appointment being made from this pool for the 2025 school year is high. It is essential that the suitable applicants display substantive leadership experience in a primary school at Level 3 (or higher).
In collaboration with the Principal and members of the school leadership team, the Level 4 Associate Principal will ideally provide educational leadership across the school community with a focus on Years 4 to 6. The suitable applicants will ideally play a key role in driving the school’s improvement agenda that is focussed on the delivery of high-quality instructional practice and student wellbeing. You will ideally provide strong instructional and curriculum leadership and work to ensure whole school approaches are embedded in classroom practice. Experience in student services is also desirable.
The suitable applicants will join a cohesive leadership team consisting of the Principal, three Level 3 Deputy Principals and the Manager of Corporate Services. The school also has a strong tier of middle leaders, including two impact coaches, who combine their coaching roles with classroom teaching and other leadership responsibilities.
The Associate Principal will lead and manage the Year 4 to 6 phase, comprising 360 students, 12 classes and 17FTE teaching staff.
