We have an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join our team and play a key role in providing comprehensive and professional financial advice and support across all areas of Council. What You'll Do: As an Accountant, you will work closely with the Senior Financial Accountant to fulfill our financial accounting and audit requirements, both internally and externally. Your expertise will help us produce accurate monthly and annual financial reports, prepare budget statements, and administer Council's long-term financial plan. You will collaborate with various units, including Treasury & Taxation and Asset Accounting, to deliver exceptional financial services to the entire Council. What We're Looking For: Bachelor of Commerce / Business or similar. Studying towards, or eligibility and willingness to study, Certified Practising Accountant status (CPA Australia) or Chartered Accountant (Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia). Experience working in a relevant finance field along with an understanding of relevant Accounting Standards. Sound understanding of accounting systems, computer concepts and programs. Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral.
