We are seeking a highly experienced Commercial Manager to lead our commercial activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Establish and maintain business development activities, identifying upcoming opportunities and facilitating early involvement.
* Review contracts for compliance with company systems and processes, ensuring risk mitigation and opportunity identification.
* Assist in post-tender negotiations of contractual terms.
* Manage the Project Management team from handover through delivery and completion, adhering to tendered timing, costing, and deliverables.
* Ensure project and contract reviews are conducted, lessons learned are shared across the business, and necessary improvements are implemented.
* Oversee contract administration activities, including preparing and issuing variations, notices of delays, and progress claims.
* Recruit, review performance, and manage estimating, contract administration, and project management resources.
* Promote a culture of coaching and mentorship, ensuring sustainable succession paths for team members.
* Provide commercial teams with guidance on cost-saving alternatives, project optimization, and value engineering.
* Lead review and handover meetings among tendering, project, and client teams.
* Accountable for monthly financial reporting and forecast reporting for cost-to-complete projects.
* Analyse and prepare annual budgets with the team and EGM, ensuring adherence to targets.
* Manage invoicing, variation submissions, and debtor collection as per targets.
* Plan, lead, and monitor strategic reviews of the business with the EGM, ensuring adherence to budgets and targets.
The ideal candidate will have formal education in Project Management, Engineering, Finance, or Management. Additionally, they should possess:
* Minimum 10 years of experience in construction, preferably in Roofing, Cladding, or GRC.
* Business Development experience.
* Experience in Financial Management, including budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis.
* Demonstrated experience in contract administration and contract management.
* Excellent leadership skills, ability to inspire others, and create a great culture.
* Problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a strategic mindset.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, building relationships with customers, contractors, and stakeholders.
* Excellent understanding of WHSEQ best practices.
