The Opportunity As the Wastewater Structural Engineer you will provide the strategy and planning associated with asset compliance, maintenance, renewal and disposal of wastewater assets in the network and treatment plants from a structural perspective, with a focus on assets affected by corrosion from sewage. What you'll do: Deliver effective and efficient engineering and technical support in relevant discipline Lead and assist technical investigations (RCA, FMECA, etc) coordinate, oversee, and report on corrective actions Develop Business Cases, PDP's, Scope of Works or Project Briefs for the capital provisions program relevant to wastewater structures. Deliver rolling condition assessment programs for relevant Hunter Water assets Maintain and assist with the development of critical asset maintenance, delivering operational capability and resilience Maintain and assist with the development of statutory asset maintenance, ensuring safe and compliant capability What you'll need to be successful: Essential Criteria: Tertiary Qualifications in Civil/Structural Engineering Extensive experience is structural engineering Ability to interpret and apply relevant engineering standards, codes and guidelines Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders Desirable Criteria: Experience of working with GIS/Ellipse or other computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS), involving work control, cost and asset performance data acquisition, analysis and reporting An understanding of the technical aspects, failure modes, repair methods and failure prevention techniques for water industry equipment Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to analyse and interpret data and information and make sound judgements.
