The Psychologist/Social Worker position at Melaleuca Place requires an AHPRA-registered Psychologist or Mental Health-Accredited Social Worker who is skilled in the assessment and treatment of developmental trauma. Melaleuca Place is a specialised therapeutic service in the ACT focused on helping young children recover from the impacts of child abuse and neglect. Melaleuca Place is a multidisciplinary team of highly experienced professionals, with expertise in trauma-informed therapeutic assessment and intervention, for children in age groups of 0-12 years and 12 years, who are in out of home care. Melaleuca Place provides services aimed at facilitating healing, recovery and positive life outcomes for children and young people recovering from abuse and neglect, and provides evidence informed intensive therapeutic services for children and young people who are clients of the statutory services. Years of experience and level of training in evidence-based therapies for treating developmental trauma may determine the position level (CYPP3 or CYPP4).
