You’ll lead a team to ensure our open spaces are safe, beautiful, and well-maintained, making a real difference for residents and visitors alike. In this role, you’ll be: Managing and coordinating a team to maintain horticultural assets to the highest standards Planning and overseeing the care of garden beds, hedges, turf, and floral displays Ensuring all safety and environmental requirements are met across all gardening tasks Monitoring plant health, irrigation, and tree conditions, and addressing issues proactively Liaising with external stakeholders and event organisers to support the use of public spaces Assisting with landscaping and capital works projects to enhance the environment Serco is a place for you Your ideal skills & experience: A minimum AQF Level 4 Horticultural qualification or equivalent experience At least 5 years’ experience in open space maintenance Demonstrated leadership skills in managing and mentoring a gardening team A strong understanding of plant health, weed identification, and irrigation management A current Manual Driver’s Licence and Chemical Users Certificate (or willingness to obtain) Competency in Microsoft Office and ability to manage administrative tasks effectively You’ll thrive in a supportive, safety-focused environment where your leadership will ensure beautiful and well-maintained public spaces.
