Meet Pollen
Pollen is not your usual agency, we're a product and experience studio focused on creating game-changing products and services in a flexible and collaborative environment.
We’re here to make a difference. From big-picture strategy to minuscule details, we support a diverse range of clients, from startups to enterprises, who are looking to change the game in a variety of areas such as inclusivity, cultural, government services, healthcare, and sustainability.
Are you ready to make a difference?
The Opportunity
Over the first 6-12 months you will:
1. Get to the core of the challenge by facilitating collaborative Discovery workshops, synthesising insights, and building trust with our clients:
o Flex your workshop muscles to uncover both business and user needs, instilling confidence with any audience: Executives, stakeholders, or users.
o Collaborate with the research team to identify user pain points through interviews.
o Capture and synthesise client and user needs, turning them into meaningful, evidence-led themes.
o Partner with our cross-functional teams of Product Strategists, Researchers, Engineers, UI Designers, and Producers to deliver strategic, creative outcomes.
2. Lean into your craft to create impactful, user-centred solutions for clients across sustainability, cultural, government, and healthcare:
o Rapidly explore various solutions, sharing with the team to gather feedback before diving too deep into one approach.
o Collaborate with Product Strategists to prioritise opportunities and features that shape the final solution.
o Transition from “blue sky thinking” to the finer detail, creating cohesive user experiences through journey maps, information architecture, wireframes, and prototypes.
o Advocate for inclusive, accessible designs beyond WCAG 2.2 compliance, sharing your knowledge to internal discussions to enhance the experience for all users.
o As a natural storyteller, you slay presentations, guiding clients through your design decisions, adapting your communication style to suit different audiences.
3. Leverage your expert collaboration and communication skills to be the common thread on award-winning projects, fuelling your curiosity through team conversations:
o Empower the team by proactively seeking and incorporating their feedback and ideas.
o Be involved end-to-end, ensuring business and user needs are addressed at every stage of the project.
o Adapt your toolkit of frameworks and techniques to tackle diverse design challenges.
o Stay flexible and find solutions to obstacles during the design and development process.
Ongoing:
* Contribute to the Design Culture, sharing inspirations on Slack, bringing your designs, ideas, and feedback to our weekly Design Jams.
* Collaborate with our in-house engineers and work closely with them to systematise, document, and annotate your designs to ensure accurate implementation.
* Stay across the latest design and tech trends. Some people dig design systems, for others, it's generative art. Whatever your thing is, we welcome you to share it with the team so we can all learn and grow.
* Contribute to our growing repository of workshop and design activities as well as templates, continually iterating and refining our processes to enable more time for creativity.
* Speak up! We welcome diverse perspectives. If there’s something you think could be done better, please share it with us and we’ll look at improving it. It’s embedded in our value: “All voices heard.”
