About the program
The Carer Gateway Services have been created in the context of national reforms and represent an exciting new era for the delivery of innovative carer services. In 2010 the Carer Recognition Act was legislated and contained 10 principles detailing how Carers in our community should be treated in policy, programs and service delivery. In 2011, a National Reform of Carer Services was announced. As part of this reform, the Carer Gateway Service Project was established in 2018 and Wellways were involved in developing and Self- Guided and Facilitated Coaching and the In-person Peer Support Program for the national service.
About the opportunity
The Service Manager: Navigation and Support is a leadership position within the Carer Gateway team and is the key driver in managing the performance and outcomes of the Assessment, Planning and Service Navigation teams. This role has a focus on achieving contractual targets and objectives whilst delivering a quality and sustainable Carer Gateway supports across dedicated service areas.
The Service Manager is expected to be a thought leader in recovery and carer led service delivery that advance Wellways’ vision, purpose, values, and service outcomes for carers, families, and the people they support. In addition this leader will also focus on the development the Wellways Carer Gateway reputation/brand with a view to expanding and diversifying our service offerings.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Tertiary Qualifications in a social science or related discipline or equivalent experience
* Demonstrated experience working within at least one of the Caring, Mental Health, Community, Disability or Health Sciences Sectors
* A minimum of 2 years management experience
* Right to work within Australia
* Current valid Driver’s Licence and the ability to undertake some travel
* NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
* Satisfactory National Police Records Check
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Working with Children's Check
