Job Description Join SGS as a Laboratory Technician in Newcastle, where you'll play a key role in performing laboratory procedures with precision and efficiency.
This casual position offers a rotational roster, providing flexibility while ensuring quality testing in line with documented methods and work instructions. Our key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to: Assist the Laboratory Supervisor Deputise for the Laboratory Technical Officer Help to maintain a technically first-class laboratory Carry out any routine laboratory analysis Calculate and assess results Carry out equipment calibration and maintenance under supervision Help to dispatch samples to other laboratories Help ensure samples are stored correctly Help to monitor stock levels and advise if re-ordering is required Help to check goods received by the laboratory Assist in training and development of trainees Suggest and help to implement improvements to laboratory methods and techniques Perform other duties as required Qualifications As the successful candidate you will have: Experience handling acids and chemicals Computer skills – Excel, Access, Lotus Notes and CCLAS Previous experience in a general mineral laboratory environment Additional Information WHY WORK FOR SGS?
