The Ammunition Supplier is a soldier responsible for ammunition supply and accounting within many units in the Australian Army. You'll be an ammunition supply specialist performing a range of duties including stores accounting, electronic ledger entry, operator maintenance, warehousing duties as well as receiving and issuing ammunition. As you progress through your career, you will have the opportunity to become an Ammunition Technician. As an Ammunition Technician, you will specialise in ammunition and explosives providing technical advice, technical support and management functions both within and outside Defence. The Ammunition Technician can provide support to military and civil authorities through the identification and disposal of un-exploded ordnance (UXO) and Improvised Explosive Devices (IED).

Your duties:
The duties listed below are those that could be expected to be performed in the first three years of service before promotion to Corporal. Note that not all duties are performed in each position.
1. Perform ammunition accounting and receipt and issue transactions
2. Perform ammunition handling including selecting, packaging and disposal of surplus or damaged stock
3. Handle, store and distribute dangerous goods such as hazardous materials, ammunition and explosives
4. Assist in the calculation of unit ammunition requirements and management
5. Drive trucks up to medium rigid and operate forklifts
6. Undertake general soldiering duties, such as manning defensive positions, patrolling, traffic control, camouflaging of vehicles, sighting of ammunition, and navigation.
