Purpose of the position:
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer supports the CEO in managing Southern Cross Education Institute's operations in support of corporate and academic governance; overseeing the corporate strategy and all academic policy, procedure and implementation against the various regulatory Standards.
As direct support to the CEO, prior experience in a high level academic and corporate governance role is required.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Inspire & Lead: Craft and communicate a compelling vision, fostering a high-performance culture aligned with SCEI values.
Develop strategic plans, set ambitious goals, and ensure departmental alignment.
Operational Excellence: Oversee all aspects of operations, ensuring high-quality training delivery and regulatory compliance.
Monitor KPIs, implement process improvements, and ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
Trainer Development: Cultivate a team of exceptional trainers through strategic recruitment, development, and performance management.
Oversee trainer performance evaluations and foster a culture of continuous learning.
Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
Lead client recruitment, address client concerns, foster long-term partnerships, and drive client retention and high enrolment rates.
Strategic Growth: Drive digital transformation, optimise resources, and ensure financial sustainability.
Lead innovation in training delivery through digital platforms, manage budgets, and ensure financial accountability.
Quality and Compliance: Lead innovation and efficiency to high standards for training programs and services.
Ensure training content is regularly reviewed and updated as per industry requirements.
Lead risk management and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with industry partners, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
Represent the organization in industry forums and public events.
Any other duties as allocated by the Board of Directors and or CEO.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Attributes:
A relevant Degree or Advanced Diploma in Education or Training Management.
A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent).
8+ years of senior management experience in an RTO or related field, with a strong understanding of the VET Quality Framework.
Excellent leadership and staff management skills, with demonstrated experience in managing faculties or schools.
Outstanding people management, communication, and negotiation skills.
Change management skills and a proven ability to build, develop, and implement strategies for improvement.
Ability to advance quality assurance and improvement by development of planning, monitoring, review, and improvement strategies.
Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Capacity to deal effectively with multiple tasks and competing demands.
Organisational and time management skills.
High level attention to detail.
An Auditing or Quality Assurance qualification (highly desirable).
Proficiency with Zoom, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams.
Proficiency with Moodle, Paradigm, FEE-HELP, and other fundings.
